Mangaluru: St Agnes College, department of Commerce organizes webinar

Mangaluru, Nov 10: A half day webinar 'Saksham'- Role of Proactive Professionals in Leveraging Optimization organised by Post Graduate Department of Commerce, St Agnes College (Autonomous) Mangaluru in association with Mangaluru branch of SIRC & SICASA of The Institute of Chartered Accountants India (ICAI).

The webinar began with the inaugural programme which started with prayer followed by Sr Dr M Venissa A C, principal St Agnes College (Autonomous) Mangaluru welcomed the gathering and highlighted on the importance of proactive personality in the changing environment. She also quoted the words of Robert Kelly that distinguishes star performers from average performers.
Treasurer of Mangaluru branch of SIRC CA Goutham Nayak gave an overview of the session. The chairman of the Mangaluru Branch of SICASA CA Goutham Pai delivered the key note address.

The first session was by CA. Daphny Stella D’Souza on the topic 'GST- Evolutionary Change since Independence Demystified'. Speaking on the session the resource person highlighted on the inception of GST laws, GST around the globe and Framework of GST in India.

The second session was by CA. Vikram Jude Saldanha on the topic '3rd Decade of the 21st Century- Professionals the handholders'. During his talk he highlighted the outlook of ICAI and Indian economy. He also covered the areas like opportunities for young members in practice, International Taxation, Cross Border Mergers & Acquisitions, Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO), IFRS and so on.

Both the session helped the students to know the tax laws in India and also the available career opportunities for practicing members. The webinar ended with vote of thanks by Dolan Champa Banerjee, HOD of The Post Graduate department of Commerce, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru.
