Mangaluru, Oct 25: Shree Devi Institute of Technology has conducted the annual graduation day ceremony on October 23, 2021 at their Kenjar campus for the 11th batch of Engineering, MBA, MCA and MTech students.
The programme was presided by Umanatha A Kotian, MLA, Mulki-Moodbidri constituency and the chief guest was Dr P L Dharma, registrar (Evaluation), Mangalore University. Nidhish S Shetty, vice chairman, Shree Devi Education Trust graced the occasion.
Dr K E Prakash principal and director, Shree Devi Institute of Technology welcomed the gathering.
University Rank holders of the institution were felicitated by the dignitaries on the dais in the presence of all. The rank holders were Veekshitha Kumari (2nd rank-MCA), Meghala (6th rank-MCA), Ashwini (2nd rank - MBA), Sohan Shetty (9th rank-M.tech), Prathima (10th rank – MBA).
Umanatha A Kotian said students should remember their alma mater and should be in touch with their college, he reiterated that to be successful in life, skills are very essential with certain soft skills like sincerity, punctuality, and hard work. He insisted that students keep learning and should strive for greater things in life. He also brought attention to the importance of National Education Policy and its role in preserving the nation’s culture, values and dreams of its people.
Students are the future of our country and a nation would prosper when its youth prosper. He also said that the graduates should be disciplined soldiers working for the betterment of the nation. Therefore an institution should imbibe those qualities that can shape a person to greater heights.
Dr P L Dharma said graduation day is the beginning of the learning process and one should not stop learning in one’s life, even if one does not get a job, one should keep learning and developing to suit to the future employment needs.
Taking the example of Japan which rebuilt itself after the natural calamities, he implored the graduates to make use of their knowledge acquired in their respective fields to rebuild the nation’s economy post pandemic He encouraged the graduates to work together so that they can progress as a united people.
He expressed the importance of today’s youth working for the development of our country rather than migrating abroad. In today’s age Technology is crucial to the development of a nation. The market will not survive with only CEOs, but it’s the engineers and their innovations that make it thrive. It is upto the engineering graduates to take this as an inspiration and be the change they want to see in the world.
An oath taking ceremony was inducted by Dr K E Prakash, principal and director, Shree Devi Institute of Technology, after handing over the certificates.
Professor Alfred Fernandes, convenor of the graduation day rendered the vote of thanks.
