Udupi: MAHE organizes programme on 'Story of a successful entrepreneur'

Udupi, Oct 23: “Perseverance, focus, self-confidence and willingness to take calculated risk are essential to becoming a successful entrepreneur” said Rohith Bhat, CEO, 99Games. He was sharing his entrepreneurial journey during a programme on 'Story of a successful entrepreneur' organized at Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, as part of its continuous activity to promote entrepreneurship among students. Hailing from Udupi, Rohith dreamt of developing a globally competitive enterprise in Udupi. As a parallel entrepreneur, he founded three companies namely, Robosoft Technologies, Global Delight and 99Games.

While inaugurating the programme, Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh, vice chancellor, MAHE mentioned as to how MAHE ecosystem is nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship and also extending its facilities to startups beyond incubation support. During the opening remarks Professor Madhu Veeraraghavan, director, T A Pai Management Institute, Manipal, opined that both success and failure stories of entrepreneurs are essential for aspiring entrepreneurs. In his closing remarks, commander (Dr) Anil Rana, director, Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal, mentioned that "Lessons from Rohith Bhat’s journey like identifying opportunities in challenging environment and creating one’s differentiator by focusing on niche areas are worth practising by the younger generation”.

The programme was jointly organized by office of corporate relations, MAHE, MIT, TAPMI, Manipal Universal Technology Business Incubator (MUTBI) and Entrepreneurship Cell, MIT. Dr Raviraja N S, director, corporate relations, MAHE welcomed and Dr Y Shrihari Upadhyaya, CEO, MUTBI proposed vote of thanks. Dr Dashrathraj K Shetty, associate professor, MIT moderated the programme.
