Mangalore, Oct 28: State wakf minister, Dr Mumtaz Ali Khan, promised to lay emphasis on early construction of Haj Bhavan in Bangalore. He was speaking after participating in a meeting organized in the district BJP office here, on Wednesday October 27.
He said that the construction of the proposed building was delayed because of the problem of locating a suitable site. He revealed that a site measuring 3.5 acres had been purchasing for the purpose.
The minister said that the government has been releasing sufficient grants towards the development of minorities. He expressed his willingness to resign from the ministry, if the Chief Minister wants him to do so.
“I am authoring a Kannada work, ‘Naa Kanda RSS (RSS, as I have seen it)’. The book will be completed in the next two weeks. I am recording my experiences, having watched the activities of RSS from close quarters,” he explained.
State Minorities Development Corporation chairman, N B Abubakker, leaders, Salim Udupi, Dayanand Ullal and Rajgopal Rai, were present.
Satish Kumpala welcomed. Dakshina Kannada District Wakf Board president, Usman, proposed vote of thanks. Vice president of the State Minorities Cell, Franklin Monteiro, compered the programme.
