Media Release

Mangaluru, Dec 23: Young singer Eshan Fernandes, who is shining at the international level, performed the "Transcending Boundaries 3" concert on December 23 at Kalaangann. He sang 12 songs in 12 languages including Bambara, Persian, Swedish, Italian, Hindustani, Portuguese, Konkani, Spanish, Kazakh, English, Tulu and Armenian. Before each song, he explained the culture of the language and the country it represents along with the emotions woven in the song, allowing the listeners to feel the soul of the song.

He was accompanied by Mangaluru’s own musical geniuses including Jerome Coelho (bass guitar), Sanjay Rodrigues (keyboard), Sanjeet Rodrigues (drums), Joswin D'Cunha (lead guitar) and Jeevan Siddi (gumo’tt and backing vocals). Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Eric Ozario gave an introduction to the concert and president Louis J Pinto honoured the artistes.

A graduate in Materials Engineering from the University of British Columbia in Canada, Eshan Fernandes is a multifaceted young man with interests in history, linguistics, art and more. He’s an explorer of the many possibilities in music. Though inspired by his father Alwyn Fernandes, a guitar maestro, Eshan has created his unique style by experimenting with the guitar. He is a member of UAE’s popular band Olive Haze. Having learnt many languages with his own interest and understanding the pulse of the music in those languages, he is working to take them to the masses.

Previously, two concerts of the "Transcending Boundaries" series have been performed in Mangaluru and Pamboor.
