Media Release

Mangaluru, Oct 12: The catholic students of St Agnes PU College had their yearly retreat on October 11, 2021 in the conference hall. The gathering was greeted by Sr Norine D'Souza, the college principal. This session was led by Fr Dixon Lawrence D'Souza, SVD religious-missionary-priest, member of the SVD India-East Province and assistant director of the Divya Dham Retreat Centre in Jharsuguda, Odisha. He emphasised that life is a journey and addressed how, in today's world, technology has surpassed relationships. He got the students to think about the value of family and gave them insights about love and expectations. The eucharistic celebration marked the end of the retreat.

Prayer day was also conducted for the non-catholic students on the same day in the college Auditorium. Sr Janet Sequeira, the vice-principal, welcomed the guests. Fr Sunil began the session with action songs and the students enthusiastically participated in it. The Students also engaged in a fruitful discussion with Fr Joe on the benefits and drawbacks of social media. They were shown the documentary film 'The Social Dilemma' at the end of the session.

Students' responsibility in nation-building and being excellent leaders of society was discussed by Fr Sunil. The goal of this session was to encourage better decision-making, establish better teams, and train future leaders in order to increase social peace and productivity. The session was duly appreciated by the staff and the students.
