Mangalore: Laughter Fair in City through Cartoon Exhibition

Mangalore, Oct 19: An exhibition of cartoons and caricatures by renowned cartoonist John Chandran, will be inaugurated at Prasad Art Gallery, MG Road, Mangalore on Thursday October 21 at 11 am.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by Karnataka Theological College principal Dr Hannibal Richard Cabral.

Fr Melwyn Pinto, headmaster of St Aloysius High School will be the chief guest. The collection of cartoons by John Chandran ‘Nimmi’ will be released on the occasion.

Free entry facilitated for public view on Saturday October 23.

John Chandran, a drawing teacher in St Aloysius High School in the city, has been honoured with many awards for his contribution to cartoon segment.

    I know John Chandran, my classmate in Pre University Course at St. Aloysius. He used to draw cartoons which indeed were full of great humour. We did have a nice laugh when he used to draw cartoons of our teachers. Now that he is a teacher, i hope his students are not drawing cartoons of him and having a nice time. John, to me is a person, very simple down to earth, with a strong message in his cartoons. I wish him all the best. Roshan
