Kuwait, Oct 18: Kuwait Kannada Koota (KKK), a premier cultural association in its twenty-sixth year of existence, is all set to stage its showcase event of the calendar - the Karnataka Rajyotsava Celebrations on November 12 from 3 to 9 pm at Dr Kamal Al Rayes auditorium of American International School.
The event will be graced by the Indian ambassador to the State of Kuwait, Ajay Malhotra as the chief guest. Captain Ganesh Karnik, deputy chairman of the NRI forum, government of Karnataka will be the guest of honour.
The 500th anniversary of the coronation of the great king Krishnadevaraya, who ruled the erstwhile Vijayanagara empire, a part of which is now Karnataka, has been celebrated in Karnataka with a lot of pomp and splendour. The rule of Krishnadevaraya was hailed as the Golden Era of prosperity and glory.
As a tribute to the great ruler, KKK will aim to recreate the glory of the Vijayanagara’s emperor in a unique and colourful manner. Over a hundred Koota children will participate alongside seniors in a cultural bonanza that promises to enthrall and mesmerize the audience by taking it back to the era of Krishnadevaraya and the rich culture, social and economical prowess of the Vijayanagar Empire, through a garland of dance and drama.
The other attraction of the evening will be a performance by the world renowned entertainer Uday Jadugar, a gifted and multifaceted personality of the highest caliber. He is among India’s finest exponents of Shadow Play and a favourite among children. He is a master ventriloquist, a versatile actor, an ace photographer and author of several books on conjuring, jokes, Sudoku and personality development. Uday Jadugar has already conducted over 8000 shows both in India and abroad. His shows bear the unmistakable stamp of world class entertainment and appeal to people of all ages, languages and religions. He will be assisted by his co-artist Arun Kumar Dutt.
