Mangaluru: Workshop on ‘NEP 2020’ held at St Philomena College Puttur

Mangaluru, Sep 22: Internal Quality Assurance Cell and NEP Task Force of St Philomena College Puttur organized a workshop on ‘NEP 2020’ in PG Seminar Hall on September 21, 2021.

The director of admin block and HoD of Economics, St Aloysisus College Mangaluru, Dr Norbert Lobo participated as the resource person. He said, "National Educational Policy 2020 gives absolute freedom to the students to choose the teachers and subjects. There is total flexibility for both students and teachers. It aims at the creation of employable graduates. A graduate should possess critical thinking, personal attributes and values. It is multidisciplinary in nature. There is no hard separation between Arts and Science. There is emphasis on conceptual learning. The traditional lecturing method will disappear."

The principal professor Leo Noronha presided over the workshop. He said, "The new National Education Policy is already approved by the Union Cabinet of India. It will replace the existing Education Policy. The NEP is a very complex topic. It will bring complete transformation in the knowledge seekers. It is student centric, value based, opportunity built up, progressive initiative."

The associate professor Prashanth Rai presented the prayer song. The coordinator of IQAC Dr A P Radhakrishna welcomed the gathering. The coordinator of NEP Taskforce Dr K Chandrashekar proposed the vote of thanks. The HoD of English Bharathi S Rai compered the programme.
