Belthangady, Sep 16: Teachers' Day was celebrated at Holy Redeemer School. The event was organized by members of the Parent Teachers Association. The program began with prayer. The guests on the dias then paid tribute to the portrait of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan.
Fr Joseph Alphonse Cardoza, correspondent of Holy Redeemer School, Fr Clifford Pinto, principal of Holy Redeemer School, Aloysius Lobo, vice-president and Pauline Rego, secretary of parish pastoral council, Lancy Pereira, co-ordinator of all committees, Walter Monis, vice president and Sharmila Moras secretary of Parent Teachers Association were present on the dias.
On behalf of the student's Velita Lobo of class 10 shared her experience with the teachers. On behalf of the teachers Sarita Rodrigues shared her views about the program. Vincent D'Souza, member of PTA composed a Kannada wishing song 'Shikshakare Nimagido Nammaya Namana' which was dedicated to the teachers on the occasion of Teacher's Day.
The students entertained everyone with their dance and conducted games for the teachers. Fr Joseph Cardoza distributed gifts to the teachers as a token of love for their service in the institution. Praveen Mendonsa welcomed the gathering, Sharmila Moras delivered the vote of thanks and Reona Dsouza compered the program.
