Mangaluru: St Lawrence School Bondel celebrates Teachers' Day

Mangaluru, Sep 6: Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow said Jawaharlal Nehru. With this notion, St Lawrence School celebrated Teachers' Day commemorating the birth of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, highlighting the importance of teachers in shaping the future citizens of tomorrow.

It was followed by prayer service and paying homage to the image of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. Fr Rupesh Tauro the chief guest, Fr Peter Gonsalves the headmaster, Fr Andrew Leo Dsouza the correspondent, core committee members of the school, Reginald DSouza, the vice president at St Lawrence Church, Bondel gladdened the event by their gracious presence.

Principal Fr Peter Gonsalves, cheerfully greeted and welcomed the dignitaries, the teaching and the non-teaching faculty respectfully.

The correspondent Fr Andrew Leo Dsouza recognized and appreciated the hard work, dedication of all the staff during challenging times and presented the gifts as a mark of gratitude.

Fr Rupesh Tauro motivated the teachers by his speech emphasizing an awakening call to be the ‘role models’. Thereafter PTA executive meeting was held and Saumya Dsouza was elected as the vice president and Gracy Crasta was elected as the joint secretary.
