Mangaluru: Teachers' Day celebrations with a difference at Carmel School

Media Release

Mangaluru, Sep 6: 'The education of the heart cannot be imparted through book. It can only be done through the loving touch of a teacher'. True to this inspirational thought, Carmel School solemnized the felicitous occasion Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan’s birthday – the Teachers’ Day with alacrity and zing.

Teachers' Day celebration began with holy mass for the St Ann’s Campus Institutions faculty offered by Fr Maxim Rosario with a motivating homily on ‘Teachers are Special’. Lots of fun games were organized and the teachers once again became children at Carmel School. The ‘Vaudeville Contest’ showcased the hidden potentialities of the mentors. A sprightly cultural programme was held to manifest appreciation and gratitude to those who held students ‘tomorrow’s smiles. Sr Marie Lucy, joint secretary and superior of St Ann's elucidated the role of a teacher in reaching out and transforming the life of a student.

Sr Sarika, the principal and Sr Rose Agnes, the administrator awarded the winners of the contest of variety entertainment and the fun games. With a nourishing breakfast and a sumptuous meal, the day turned out to be a memorable one for the entire staff. Zeena Menezes compered the programme.
