Mangaluru, Jun 12: Student Capacity Building Programme - SCBP: 7 titled 'Effect of Covid Pandemic on Real Estate and Interior Design Business' was initiated by the department of Interior design and decoration and IQAC of the college keeping in mind the introductory objective for the first year BSc IDD, Food Nutrition and Dietetics, and Hospitality Science students on June 9.

Manasa Bharadwaj, entrepreneur, founder at Ambiance Studio was the resource person. Manasa chose a theme as it was befitting the participants.

Manasa having experience being a business woman for about 10 years shared her experience of the 2020 pandemic, as an entrepreneur, how she managed to solve the problems faced by her employees due to lockdown. She recommended to the students that 'change is the only thing constant' and to accept it. She explained how to minimize contacts and interact with clients through video call and inspect the site through pictures. she briefly explained about Freelance designer. She also dealt with possible changes that could be expected in interior designs in the near future.

Manasa Bharadwaj eventually appraised the students urging them to come out of their discomfort zone and be a change in the social imbalance.

Fr Michael Santhumayor, principal, introduced the guest and welcomed the partakers. John Melroy Fernandes, coordinator of the department interior design and decoration hosted, compered the session and proposed the vote of thanks. Kirti Shetty and other faculty members along with 100 students took the benefit of the session and their queries were responded well.
