Udupi, Nov 24: Krishnaprasad and Shruthi emerged as winners of the Lions Club Sunshine Udyavar-organized HPR Films presents Adarsha Dampathi 2024 competition, securing a Rs 15,000 gift voucher and a trophy. Pradeep and Shruthi claimed second place, while Gokuldas and Shailaja Kamath took third place. They received Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,500 gift vouchers, respectively, along with trophies.
The event celebrated ideal couples, promoting love, understanding, and inspiration, with around 25 couples participating in a festive and vibrant atmosphere.
Inaugurating the programme, Ln Mohammad Hanif, district governor 317C, remarked, "This is a very good initiative. Amidst quarrels and divorces everywhere, such programs are essential. This stage allows couples to share their experiences, offering lessons that can be learned and adopted by all."
Ln Sapnaa Suresh, first vice governor, added, "This is the first such competition in the history of Lions Club, organized by Lions Club Udyavar Sunshine. I wish all the couples success and hope for a memorable event."
Ln Sheikh Wahid conveyed his best wishes for the event.
Regional President Ln Melwin Aranha shared his pride in the event, saying, "It is a joyous occasion to witness this prestigious program taking place in our region."
Tulu superstar and comedian Aravind Bolar shared his experience, saying, "Having performed here for over 15 years, I feel honored. The Adarsha Dampathi competition is unique as it fosters open-hearted conversations on a public stage. Perform well, as you will be remembered for years. My performances are still cherished by people, and this is what art stands for—transcending religion and boundaries."
Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld media, highlighted the importance of prioritizing health, stating, "Despite numerous entertainment shows, anti-depression drugs remain the most-sold medication. Observing individuals like Tanushree Pitrody reminds us that health is wealth, and we must prioritize it daily."
Social worker Eshwar Malpe expressed his gratitude, saying, "I thank everyone for their blessings, which allow me to do whatever I want. Regarding the Shirur incident, I wrote a letter accepting responsibility for anything that might happen to me, but people's prayers have kept me safe. I also urge parents not to give phones to children at a young age, as it can lead to drastic consequences."
Guinness World Record holder in yoga, Tanushree Pitrody, presented yogasanas and shared her inspiring journey with the audience.
The competition was judged by JC Sudhakar Karkala and Prakash K.
The event was graced by notable attendees, including Fr Anil D'Souza, parish priest of Udyavar Church, and Fr Stephen Rodrigues, assistant parish priest. Lions Club Udyavar Sunshine treasurer Anil Menezes, secretary Gerald Pereira, former president Prem Menezes, convener Steevan Colaco, president Ronald Rebello, zonal president Praveen Carvalho, regional president Melwin Aranha, secretary Graynal, Lion district coordinator Eshwar, Ln Maula Saheb, Lions District 317C second vice governor Rajeev Kotian, first vice governor Sapnaa Suresh, Lions Udupi Club president Louis Lobo, KPCC Minority Cell secretary Sheikh Wahid, proprietor of Electronic Complex Edward D'Souza, district governor Mohammed Hanif, and title sponsor HPR Films chairman Hariprasad Rai and Vijetha Rai were also present.
Renowned teacher and trainer JC Rajendra Bhat compered the competition.
All 25 participating couples were awarded attractive prizes.

The inaugural programme was compered by Melwin Noronha, with Dr. Sylvinia rendering the prayer. Ln Steevan Colaco coordinated the event seamlessly.
