Jeddah, Aug 25: Jamiyyatul Falah Jeddah unit, a frontline NGO of people hailing from twin districts Mangalore and Udupi, hosted its annual Iftar programme here, recently. With more than 500 people including families gathering a the Lucky Darbar Hotel of Sharafiya here, the party was packed.
Scholar Maulana Kaleem Siddiqui Nadwa, chief guest addressing the gathering and supplicated dua before iftar.
In his keynote address Maulana conveyed wishes of Holy month Ramadhan to all and urged everyone to join hands with Jamiyyatul Falah and contribute towards social welfare.
Prior to this Maulana Saleem Saheb recited the Holy Quran verses to begin the programme and delivered the azaan for Prayer. BBC World Urdu Service correspondent Ayub Zinjani Saheb introduced the chief guest Maulana Kaleem Siddiqui and JF Founder Mohammed Iqbal Yusuf briefed about the organization.
In his speech Iqbal pointed out that with the great mercy of Almighty Allah, today organization has been unning several schools, community welfare programmes and has its own community development centre in Mangalore, India.
JF Jeddah president Habeeb Rahaman extended warm welcome and Ramadhan greetings to all in his presidential speech. He urged the audience to contribute wholeheartedly towards the education and social welfare programmes that benefit the poor Muslim population of coastal Karnataka.
Mohammed Mansoor was the master of ceremony and vice-president Mohammed Arif delivered the vote of thanks.
