Mangaluru, Mar 12: The Indian Pharmaceutical Association of DK district, local branch, here, in association with the NSS unit of Srinivas College of Pharmacy & Indian Red Cross Society, DK district, Mangaluru on March 12 organised a 'First AID and CPR training programme.
The programme was inaugurated by CA Shantharam Shetty, chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society of DK district, Mangaluru as the chief guest of the inaugural programme. He inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp and spoke about the history and organizational programmes of the Indian Red Cross society.
S A Prabhakar Sharma, secretary of the Indian Red Cross Society of DK District, Mangaluru highlighted the life-saving techniques.
Dr A R Shabaraya, president of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Mangaluru and principal and director of Srinivas College of Pharmacy, presided over the programme. He declared that he would initiate and motivate the students' council members to organize such programmes which are highly beneficial to all cross-sections of society.
Other guests Dr Annayya Kulal, National First Aid trainer, TOT and chief medical officer of Srinivas Group of Colleges, Mangaluru, Dr J N Bhat, trainer and Blood Bank medical officer, Indian Red Cross Society, DK district, Mangaluru and Dr B R Bhat, senior trainer of First Aid programme gave a live demonstration of the different techniques of First Aid. Dr Saleemulla Khan, principal of PA College of Pharmacy, Mangaluru was present during the programme.
Dr EVS Subrahmanyam, professor and HOD of SCP, Mangaluru and vice-president of IPA, DK district local branch, Mangaluru welcomed and introduced the guests to the gathering.
Ashwini Nayak and Subbulakshmi anchored the programme. Student council president, Sharvani proposed the vote of thanks.
