New Delhi, June 28 (IANS) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit Monday said that rains in the coming days will not be a hurdle in the timely completion of Commonwealth Games projects, many of which are running behind schedule.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a conference, she said that there would be no power or water shortage during the October 3-14 Games.
"We have already done a lot of work and at the same time we are aware of the rains. There would be no problem in timely completion of the projects in the wake of rains in the city," Dikshit said.
Asked about the water and power supply scenario during the Games, the chief minister pointed out that when the city managed the power and water demands during the searing heat, it will manage it then too.
Construction works at some stadiums, including Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, are still going on and infrastructure-related projects in the city are also believed to be behind schedule.
