Low-pressure area formed in Arabian Sea, Goan fishermen warned

Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji

Panaji, Nov 18: The India meteorological department (IMD) has projected a low-pressure area that would likely form over the south-east Arabian Sea around November 19.

However, the IMD has maintained that Goa would not face any major impact from it. But the fishermen have been advised not to venture into areas near Kerala, Comorin, Lakshadweep, Maldives, south-east and the east-central Arabian Sea for a few days.

“It is very likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a depression over the southeast and adjoining east-central Arabian Sea during the subsequent 48 hours. It is requested that fishermen may kindly be informed accordingly and asked to take precautions and avoid fishing in high seas in the coming days,” IMD stated.
