Mangaluru, Nov 17: The inauguration of the online certificate course 'E-Konkani Bhaas & Culture' was held on November 13 at St Aloysius College (Autonomous) through a zoom platform.
Dr Alwyn D'Sa, controller of examinations at SAC officially inaugurated the course. This course is organised under STRIDE (Scheme for Transdisciplinary Research for India's Developing Economy) scheme of UGC.
Fr Dr Praveen Martis, SJ presided over the programme and delivered the presidential remarks. All the resource persons and participants introduced themselves to the programme.
35 participants globally involved in this course, especially, from Ireland, UAE, Kuwait, Kerala, Mumbai, Goa, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Udupi, Kundalpur, Brahmavar, etc.
Flora Castelino, co-ordinator of the course welcomed the gathering and proposed the vote of thanks with MC narration.
About the course
This certificate course is exclusively designed for online classes for a duration of 50 hours. Online classes will be conducted every Friday from 6 pm to 8 pm. This course will be conducted using three scripts namely, Kanadi, Nagari and Romi and the option is given to the students to choose any one of the scripts for answering the online test at the end of the course.
Eminent resource persons from Goa, Mangaluru, Bengaluru and UAE will be facilitating the classes on WEB. The course content has been designed for beginners as well as passionate promoters of Konkani language and culture.
