Mangaluru, Nov 9: In an attempt to deliver technical and sustainable solutions to the existing local as well as community problems, St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC) has come up with a unique initiative in the form of a GreenTech Hackathon 2020 that is intended to provide a solid platform for students to come together in creating and implementing novel ideas for a sustainable future.
The national-level virtual hackathon will be virtually launched by Akshay Sridhar, commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation at 11.00 am on November 11 in the august presence of Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangaluru and the president of SJEC.
The department of Civil Engineering at SJEC in joint association with SJEC-ISTE student chapter is organizing this national-level event that is expected to foster and strengthen the clean and green aspirations of the college.
The theme of the event is 'Waste Handling and Management' that is in line with the 'Sustainable Development Goals 2030' identified by the United Nations. The hackathon will be presented in three editions namely Software Edition, Hardware Edition and an Open Track.
