Lalit Modi to Attend IPL Governing Council Meeting

New Delhi, April 25 (IANS) Lalit Modi, chairman and commissioner of the Indian Premier League (IPL), will attend Monday's Governing Council (GC) meeting with a single-point agenda of hearing charges against him and any other GC member, Modi's office told IANS Sunday afternoon.

The move has taken the influential GC members by surprise as they had readied plans to sack Modi on charges of alleged fiscal and other organisational irregularities in running the affairs of the IPL whose brand is valued at Rs.18,000 crore ($4.13 billion.)

He is a marketing wizard par excellence. He single handed built brand IPL, successfully marketed it and as you say it is valed at Rs.18,000/ crores now.
As he said elsewhere, it was his dream come true that he had pursued for 17 long years.
With all his shortcomings, we have to respect his perseverance to acheive his goal.
