Udupi, Apr 23: Dr T M A Pai Hospital, here will conduct a free eye check-up camp on Sunday April 25.
The camp intends to benefit patients suffering from cataract, dacrocystitis (swelling of the tear sac), pterygium (overgrowth over cornea) and other ophthalmic conditions including impaired vision.
Dr Lavanya G Rao, head of department of ophthalmology, KMC, Manipal, emphasized
that most cases of blindness in India are preventable. He urged the public to take full benefit of the camp on Sunday, as it would help identify patients suffering from cataract and other ophthalmic conditions.
Dr Parvati V Bhat, medical superintendent of Dr T M A Pai Hospital, here stressed on the importance of identifying patients with ophthalmic conditions, as a means to achieve the goal of eradication of blindness in India.
