Mangaluru, Oct 17: The secretary of Bethany Educational Society and the correspondent of the school, Sr Mariette B S, principal, Sr Philomene Saldanha, vice-principal, Sr Lourdes, teaching, non-teaching faculty and a few parent representatives of St Theresa’s School, Mangaluru on October 17 gathered together to bid adieu to Janet Noronha, a primary school teacher.
The occasion began by seeking God’s blessings on all present especially on Janet for her service, fidelity and dedication towards the institution.
A warm welcome was extended to all gathered reminding them that the school is a home where a large family of teachers and students grow together and will always be part of it.
Retirement is not just a case of not setting an alarm anymore to go to work. It is a major life-changing decision. A few of the teachers and parents delivered short speeches expressing their love and thanking her for all the guidance and support that she rendered over the years for the little kids of the institution to rise and shine.
The secretary, and the principal felicitated Janet. The principal expressed her heartfelt feelings stating how much the school and the little ones would miss the contribution of Janet whose hearts she touched for the past 19 years and 4 months.
The thoughtfulness of the teachers and students made them include a dance to lift up the sinking spirits and create a lively feeling.
A farewell song was sung in chorus praying and wishing her a fabulous life full of happiness and cheer.
Too overpowered with grief to say anything coherently, Janet spoke a few words expressing her experiences and promising to stay connected with the school even in her post-retirement years.
The vote of thanks was delivered to express gratitude to everyone for their unrelenting support and especially Janet for all the years of commitment to the development of the school.
Overall, it was an unforgettable experience that left a lasting impression on the minds of everyone present.
