Mangaluru: Virtual awareness on COVID 19 held at Shakthi PU College

Mangaluru, Oct 8: As per the MHRD guidelines received, an awareness programme was arranged virtually for the PU students Shakthi Residential PU College to help them cope with the pandemic and the fear attached to it.

The institution is all set to re-open, following the protocol stated by the government. Dr Priyadarshini Rai was the resource person who stressed on the need to wear masks regularly without any hesitation and to wash hands with soap or a sanitizer very often. Social distancing in common areas, as well as the classrooms, is the need of the hour to keep ourselves as well as our neighbour free from an infection she stated.

Residential students were asked not to panic and not to hide any form of illness and to report the same to the authority for further action. Students need to concentrate on their studies whether online or offline and shun their fears about this virus. Dr Priyadarshini Rai was appointed as the residential doctor for Shakthi group of institutions who would be catering to the need of boarders, staff and other students as well.

 

 

 

First priority is given to cleanliness at Shakthi

• Promoting best handwashing and hygiene practices and providing hygiene supplies; washing hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer
• Cleaning and disinfecting school buildings, especially water and sanitation facilities.

Daily cleaning of the floors, cleaning and regular disinfection using 1% sodium hypochlorite of frequently touched surfaces like the doorknobs, elevator buttons, handrails, chairs, benches, washroom fixtures, and deep cleaning of all drinking and handwashing stations, washrooms and lavatories is ensured.

For a very secure and wholesome development of the students, vigilant measures are taken by the management to make it a home away from home.

Ramesh K, the chief advisor, Prakyath Rai, the institute development officer, Sudheer M K, the principal-in-charge of Shakthi PU College, Vidya Kamath G, principal of Shakthi Residential School and all the teaching and non-teaching staff were the beneficiaries of this programme along with the students and parents who joined the group live. Harshitha and Divya Jyothi educated the students and parents through the PowerPoint presentation. Shilpa P, lecturer in Commerce compered the programme.
