Mangaluru, Oct 7: The Science faculty of St Aloysius PU College, here, on October 6 attended a training programme on ‘Effective Coaching for Competitive exams’ 2020.

Professor Ronald Pinto, head of the Institute for Individual Development and a veteran in the field of competitive exams training was the resource person. He updated the staff on the recent trends in competitive exams and the current coaching scenario. He addressed the staff on a wide range of topics such as coverage of the curriculum, content preparation, effective use of online tools for teaching, mentoring and counseling. Apart from the regular exams CET, NEET and JEE, he also gave an overview of various opportunities available to the students through several other national level entrance exams and urged the staff to guide and motivate the students to take up these exams also.

Fr Sujay Daniel SJ, head of the competitive exam cell welcomed the gathering and spoke on the challenges faced in mentoring the students for competitive exams and suggested various strategies to be adopted for effective coaching. Coordinators for competitive exams Amogh Shetty of the department of Physics introduced the resource person to the gathering and Kiran Shetty, the dean, proposed the vote of thanks.
