Mangaluru, Oct 5: "What we need to develop, how we should develop and what type of products we should yield, are very important for an institution to prosper. How to start a speech, how to end, what are the protocols, how to invite the guest to the stage, how to make the students interested in your presentation are some of the things that would be focused in public speaking training," said the facilitator Dr Ragavendra Holla N, chairman of Swastika Charitable Trust on the inauguration of the one-day workshop for the faculties of Shakthi Group of Institutions.
Dr Rajeshwari Shetty, the principal of Swastika National School and national trainer at JCI, India, also the key speaker said that learning would be mutual and a lot of speaking will be happening from the participants as a part of the Public Speaking workshop.
The ultimate goal of such arrangements is to bring out a child to be street smart and face the challenges in life boldly and become an asset for our nation by being trained under the hands of our faculty said the administrator Dr K C Naik on the occasion.
"Faculty development has been defined as a wide range of activities that institutions apply to support faculty members' roles. This includes programmes designed to improve the performance of faculty members in education, research and administration as well as augmenting organizational capacities and culture," said Vidya Kamath G, principal of Shakthi Residential School while proposing the welcome address.
Ramesh K, chief advisor, Prakyath Rai, institute development officer, Neema Saxena, co-ordinator of Shree Gopalakrishna Pre-School were present on the occasion along with 35 trainees of Shakthi Group of institutions.
The day began with an invocation by Sharanappa and troupe. Ashwini Pai and Bhavyashri introduced the guest, Priyanka Rai proposed the vote of thanks while Vineetha A K compered the show.
