Bengaluru, Aug 27: Ramachandrapur Math which manages Lord Mahabaleshwara temple at Gokarna has won another bout of the legal battle. The case involves a claim made by Anant Dattatreya Adi and 24 others seeking permission to perform puja procedures in the Gokarna temple and to receive Dakshina from the devotees.

The district court at Karwar had given its judgement in favour of Anant and others. Ramachandrapur Math along with a group of priests from the temple had appealed against the judgement in the high court. The Math and this group have come out victorious.

Adi and others had initially filed suit in the Kumta senior civil court seeking to permit them to offer traditional puja at Gokarna temple and to accept Dakshina from the devotees. They had also sought a permanent injunction against the board of trustees stopping them from performing the puja and accepting Dakshina.
