Mangaluru, Aug 6: Commissioner of the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) here, Ajith Kumar Hegde Shanady, has been transferred. A farewell programme was organized at the hall of the city corporation on Wednesday August 5 to see him off.
Shanady has been transferred as the chief accounts officer of Krishna Jala Bhagya Nigam Ltd with headquarters at Almatti. Till a permanent incumbent is posted in his place, Mangaluru Urban Development Authority commissioner, Dinesh Kumar, will be in charge of the post vacated by Shanady.
Speaking on the occasion, city mayor Diwakar Pandeshwar, said that Hegde worked honestly as the commissioner of the city corporation. He also appreciate the officer for providing people-friendly administration. He noted that in spite of having been suffering from coronavirus infection, the commissioner efficiently discharged duties without losing heart.
Outgoing commissioner Ajith Kumar Hegde Shanady, thanked officers from different walks of life for cooperating with him. He said he got constructive support from the ruling party, opposition, and the general public.
Deputy mayor Janaki, leader of the opposition Abdu Ravuf, former mayor M Shashidhar Hegde, and others were present.
