Bengaluru, Jul 28: In an incident which took place in the fourth stage of Yelahanka Newtown here, a woman ended her life by jumping into the water tank of the apartment complex where she lived.
The woman who committed suicide has been identified as Gauri Nagaraj. The police said that she took this extreme step on account of financial issues. After Gauri had gone missing from home since Friday the family members filed a complaint at the police station. The police after searching found the body that was getting decomposed in the water tank.
In a worrying development, the apartment residents have realized that they had used water from the tank for three days for bathing, drinking, cooking, washing, etc. Now they are fearful that this might adversely affect their health. Over 60 people live in the apartment.
The body of the woman has been removed from the tank and sent for postmortem. The authorities are also subjecting the body to corona test. A case stands registered in Yelahanka Newtown police station.
The police have accessed a ten-page death note in which she has placed the blame on Jayasurya Builders. She has complained against Gopi, Bhargav and Devarajendrappa, members of Jayasurya Builders. Gauri was involved with looking for customers for sites. The police have served notices to the accused on the basis of the death note.
