Mangaluru: Trucks collide on national highway near Yekkur, no casualties

Mangaluru, Jul 28: A lorry coming from Belagavi loaded with sugar rammed into a truck carrying a cement load towards Kasargod in the rear near Yekkur on national highway 66 on Tuesday July 28 morning.

The driver of the sugar lorry had a providential escape. The accident occurred as the driver of the cement truck that was ahead applied brake all of a sudden. The driver following the cement truck was caught unawares as he did not expect the lorry ahead to stop abruptly.

The traffic police went to the spot of the accident and made arrangements for the resumption of smooth traffic on the highway.

    Loaded trucks can't even move above 40 kMH speed but they want to go on speed tack! why can't they move on a slow lane?

    Our traffic police department does not punish the idiots who use high beam lights unnecessarily.
    High beam lights causes temporary blindness which results in fatal accidents .Must ban use of high beam lights unnecessary.

    Sadanand who will Ban ? Trucks with Bhem Lights are mainly responsible for Accident's From Top to Bottom all are Corrupt. You give Bribe everything is possible. Now Money matters not life.

    This is simply because the traffic rules are not followed nor enforced by the RTO. If there was sufficient gap between the trucks while on road there is enough time to brake and stop the truck or any vehicle. Thank God that there were no casualties. This is what happens whey 99% of the truck drivers are not very well educated about the proper traffic safety rules. What can we say- Our Incredible India.
