Bengaluru, Jul 27: Relating to accusations and retorts being exchanged between the Congress and the BJP, former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, has raised five questions to both the parties.
In a statement issued here on Sunday July 26, he noted that the Congress which has alleged irregularities in medical equipment purchases, has not complained to any of the investigation agencies so far. He also noted that the BJP, which is facing the charges, has not made any efforts to get rid of the allegations. This indicates that it has indirectly admitted to the wrongdoing, he noted.
"Why have the Congress leaders, who have been making serious allegations against the government, not filed even a single complaint officially, although they keep claiming that they are in possession of incriminating documents? Is it because the Congress leaders are only behind getting some publicity or is it driven by the concern about the draining of public money? Leader of the Congress legislature party has been just asking for accounts. Will he be satisfied with the accounts? Does the Congress have any concrete plan to fight the matter legally? Why has the Congress not filed complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau? This looks like a drama being played out before the people to get some publicity. I expect replies from the Congress leaders on these issues," he said in a statement.
He asked the BJP as to why the party is not willing to refer the allegation of Rs 2,000 crore scam to investigation. "Why has the BJP not sought resignation from specific minister who faces serious charges? If there is political pressure against obtaining resignation letters from the ministers, at least the officials concerned could have been acted against. The government has been addressing press conferencing to rebut the charges. Is it trying to gain publicity like the Congress? Has the government indulged in his scam to clear the borrowings relating to Operation Lotus?" he wondered.
