Mangalore, Mar 1: St Ann’s Group of Institutions (SAGOI), Mulky here celebrated seventh annual day and first graduation day at Punaroor grounds on Saturday February 27.
Dr S Ramanand Shetty, vice chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore, was the chief guest of the programme. Dr C N Ashwathnarayan, MLA, Malleswaram, Bangalore Constituency and chairman of Padmashree Group of Institutions, professor Rajesh Shenoy, director of Padmashree Group of Institutions were the guests of honour. Professor Eric C Lobo, chairman of the Institution, presided over the function.
Dr S Ramanand Shetty expressed great pleasure to be a part of first ever graduation ceremony of SAGOI. He lauded the excellent study environment of the institution and said that it has good infrastructure, laboratories, clinical materials, library, students and above all dedicated teaching staff.
Dr S Ramanand Shetty said that the quality of the citizens depend on the quality of education and the quality of education depends on quality of teachers. “It is good that SAGOI stresses on the quality of education”, he added. Professor Rajesh Shenoy also spoke on the occasion.
Lucy Lobo and Lilly Lobo, founder trustees of Lobo Teachers Foundation, Sr Lucy Rodrigues, principal of St Ann’s College of Nursing, Sr Loredana Korah, director nursing education and post graduation studies of SAGOI, Oliven Costa, principal of St Ann’s School of Nursing and Rashma J Mallya, co-ordinator of Institute of Health Sciences were present.
