Bangalore, Feb 27 (DHNS) : In an effort to draw the attention of the Delhi leaders to his fight against the controversial BMIC project, former prime minister H D Deve Gowda has decided to stage a dharna in front of Parliament in the national capital on March 10 and 11.
Disclosing this to reporters on Saturday, he said nearly 1,500 farmers affected by the land acquisition, will also take part in the two-day dharna and highlight the alleged irregularities in the implementation of the project. The State CPI, the CPM and the DSS leaders will also join, he added.
The JD(S) chief said he will submit a memorandum to AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi, PM Manmohan Singh, Leader of the Opposition and leaders of all political parties in this regard. Besides, he said he will draw the attention of the national leaders to the alleged injustice being meted out by the State government to farmers by acquiring their fertile land.
