Mangaluru, Jul 11: A woman who got herself tested for COVID-19 after falling ill suddenly died within a day of undergoing the test. As the test report was not received, the family members were forced to wait at home for the report with the lifeless body of the woman in question. After a long wait, the report was received on Friday evening, confirming that the woman was corona positive.
This is just one example about the problems created by coronavirus for the common people.

The victim, identified as a 75-year-old lady from Suratkal Krishnapura had been taken to a private hospital as she was suffering from rheumatism some days back. She was continuing with the treatment prescribed by this hospital. During her recent visit to the hospital, the private practitioner advised her to get herself tested for COVID-19 and furnish a report. She went to the district Wenlock Hospital on July 8 and returned home after providing a throat swab sample there. On July 9, she died unexpectedly.
The officials told the family members that the funeral cannot be performed till the report is received. Therefore, the family kept the body at home and waited for about 24 hours. A coronavirus positive report was received on Friday evening, which gave rise to concern among the people living in the area. The deceased woman and family lived in a rented house. Therefore, the family members now face the need to get tested for the infection.
It is learnt that the body was taken to Wenlock Hospital by ambulance and a funeral was performed at the graveyard at Boloor here.
