Hubballi, Jul 11: Union minister for parliamentary affairs Prahlad Joshi said that the decision regarding reduction of prices of petrol and diesel will be taken at a suitable time as the state and central governments are busy in measures for controlling the Covid-19 pandemic spread.
Speaking at a press conference here in the city on Friday, July 10, Joshi said, "Due to the coronavirus pandemic there is a huge drop in the revenue of state and central governments. The price of crude oil has also increased in the international market. Efforts are on to reduce the dependency of the nation on import of fuel. The matter of reducing the price of petrol and diesel will be looked into considerately.
"The previous union government run by UPA had removed the control on petrol and diesel prices. That is being continued now also. Some states have also imposed tax on fuel in order to increase their revenue. I will not respond much on the reduction of fuel,” he said.
