Panaji, Jul 5: As coronavirus pandemic has affected academics severely the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education brought relief to students in Class IX and XI by announcing that all students will be promoted to Class X and XII, respectively.

Goa Board secretary Bhagirath Shetye said “It is crystal clear that students eligible for the supplementary exam will be promoted to a higher class. To be precise these students may include failure in one, two, three, or all six subjects.”

On April 17, 2020, the board had issued a circular saying as a one-time measure this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all students from Class IX and XI were eligible to answer the supplementary exam for these classes, but on July 3, another circular stating that the supplementary exam for students in Class IX and XI has been canceled was issued.

Therefore, all students eligible for the supplementary exam for the academic year 2019-2020 will be promoted to the higher class.
