Mangaluru, Jul 1: The deputy commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada district Sindhu B Rupesh announced on Wednesday, July 1, that the DC’s office will remain closed from July 3 to July 5 as a precautionary measure against the fast-spreading coronavirus. The premise will be sanitised.
The district is witnessing an increase in the number of coronavirus cases. As a preventive measure, the district health department has been taking the necessary steps to curb the spread of the virus.
In an order issued by the DC, directions have been given for the closure of all offices including the elected representatives and ministerial ones. Meanwhile, the entry of the public is banned at the DC office premises.
Earlier on Sunday, the Mangaluru City Corporation office was also closed for a week.
