Mangaluru, Jun 27: A chartered flight arranged by Karnataka Kerala Muslim Association, from Kuwait to Mangaluru was cancelled at the end moment as the flight had failed to avail prior permission to land at the airport due to technical reasons.

As many as 162 passengers including three who are suffering from serious health issues were ready to board the flight which was scheduled on June 27 at 11 am and supposed to land at Mangaluru at 6:05 pm.

The passengers were hoping after a long wait, to return to their hometown during this corona pandemic. Most of the passengers are in dire straits as many among them had lost their jobs and were also living in rented houses. Shankar,

After reading the article, I am of the opinion, Charted flight was cancelled because DC Managalore was unable to make arrangements for Hotel Quarantine...

I am against this Hotel Quarantine from day one....its waste of money of passengers and efforts of District Administration....

In my opinion....Bajpe Police should take all these passengers in their nice and beautiful Blue 'Police Buses' to their houses and allow them Volunterely quarantine themselves in their homes for 14 days...if they are found roaming outside within 14 days appoint a Police Sentry outside home for 14 days...like they do for Ministers houses....and collect money from them for guarding them...

We should give them a chance to Volunterely comply....if they don't comply forced quarantine option always available....but it should be LAST option , not FIRST....

'Pyar se Karo Shankar....Jor se nahin' ....

    ...Tak...Takk...

Kerala is the best. Kerala Government facilitated safe return of their own citizens, citizens from neighboring states. Had the privilege to be a repatriated on flight from Africa to Cochin arranged for Keralites, which arrived on 25 June 2020. The guidelines are stipulated clearly, no confusion and all handling the flights/ arrival procedures are very professional. They have busses arranged to the various districts. The health officer at the Airport arrange safe passage of 9 Mangaloreans to Talapady border and then the chaos starts!!!!
