Bengaluru, Jun 24: Former chief minister (CM) and leader of opposition Siddaramaiah said that he would have given Rs 10,000 to every poor family of the state if he was the chief minister during this crisis time of coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking in the prelude meeting for the oath taking ceremony of D K Shivakumar as the new KPCC meeting, Siddaramaiah said, "If I was in CM Yediyurappa's position during this time of coronavirus pandemic, I would have given every poor family of the state Rs 10,000 each. This would have increased their purchasing power."
New KPCC president D K Shivakumar, working president Eshwar Khandre and Salim Ahmed took part in the meeting.

Coronavirus guidelines not followed by members during meeting
Mock trial of oath taking ceremony of KPCC president took place on Tuesday, June 23 at the new office of Congress in the city.
Prelude meeting to the oath taking ceremony that is slated to be held on July 2 was also conducted at the same time. State government had given permission to only 150 people for this meeting. However, Congress workers were more than 500 in number and blatantly violated the guidelines given by the authorities.
The number of coronavirus infections are rising in the city day by day. In the wake of this the city administration had restricted the number of participants to just 150 for the Congress meeting. However, due to the large number of party workers and other office bearers there was heavy rush and social distance norms were not followed at all.
Many people were seen proceeding to the auditorium of the new Congress office without going through the procedure of thermal screening. Former CM Siddaramaiah, D K Shivakumar, Mallikarjuna Kharge and Ramalinga Reddy took part in the meeting.
