Mangaluru, Jun 22: As many as 30,835 students will be appearing to write the SSLC examination in the district that has been scheduled on June 25.
District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary chaired a meeting at DC office here on Monday, June 22, regarding the preparation to be undertaken to accommodate students who would be coming to write the SSLC examination.
"Certain measures should be taken for the smooth functioning of the SSLC exam during this corona outbreak. Examination centres would be sanitized, and social distancing norms will have to be followed. Students will be required to wear masks during the exams," Poojary said.
"Arrangements will be made to ferry students coming from Kerala, buses have been arranged which will deliver students to examination centres," he announced.
Speaking to the reporters, DDPI Malyaswamy said, "There are 95 examination centres, none of these centres was in containment zones and transformed into quarantine centres earlier. As many as 30,835 students will be appearing to write the exams. Over 395 students from Kerala will appear for the exam and around 1,318 students who are studying in Dakshina Kannada have opted to write the exam in other district examination centre. Over 20 students will be seated in each room and there are 1,585 rooms where exams will take place. Masks, sanitizers have been arranged and thermal scanning of students will be carried out in every examination centre. Around 102 rooms are allocated as restrooms in the district. There are 29 checkposts from Talapady to Kolchar in Sullia and a nodal officer has been appointed at every check post."
"Nine officials will be deployed in every examination centre, which makes it a total of 855 officials in the district. Health department officials, Scouts Guide and police officials will also be deployed in examination centres," the DDPI said.
