Mangaluru, Jun 22: The city (south) MLA D Vedavyasa Kamath, held meeting with officials towards addressing the discrepancies in property cards, e-Khata, and RTC.
Speaking to media persons later, Kamath said that detailed discussions about the problems encountered in issuing e-Khata at the city corporation were held and that in the interests of the people, steps are being taken to address the issues.
"We have issued instructions to the officials to ensure that e-Khatas are issued to people within 20 days of submitting applications. Discussions have been held with the officials of the city corporation, revenue department, and the department of urban land records towards setting right problems encountered in correcting the mistakes in the records. He said that a proposal will soon be tabled towards sorting out problems concerned," he stated.
Kamath asserted that it is wrong to make the common people to run from pillar to post. "When the people approach officials for certain records, they have to address the technical snags through easily available methods and issue the records. The officials have been asked to handle problems they encounter affectively and cooperate fully with the people," he explained.
City corporation council whip Premananda Shetty, chairperson of health standing committee Poornima, corporator Sudhir Shetty Kannur and Shakeela Kava, tahsildar Guruprasad, city corporation deputy commissioner Santosh, officials of revenue and survey departments, officials of the office of the sub-registrar, village accountants, office bearers of Real Estate Developments Association of India (CREDAI), engineers association, office bearers of Bar Association, Dharmaraj, Hajumanth Kamath and Golpalkrishna Bhat were present.
