The airport is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 220 crore in a 662.38 acre plot in Sogane village of Shivamogga district. The work is being carried out in two phases with the first phase expected to be completed within a year, he said.

Good move - this will give boost for Tourism Industry around Shimoga and Chikmagalur as well as the Agro products can connect to better market. A good Air connectivity to these regions will also reduce the load on highways as well as can generate direct and indirect employment.

In my opinion it is good decision. Instead of talking about another airport for Udupi Shimoga is better choice.

Mr/ Yediyoorppa took 2 good decisions in last 2 weeks. One removing the restrictions on purchasing farm lands another this Airport.

It is quite clear you lack the cognitive skills to achieve anything of value, besides sticking your tiny neck out to take shots at people of other faiths. It's quite evident from your other comment about Keralites.

I mean, there is not an ioata of sense in what you have said. I put that in, just so you spend a few minutes googling up 'ioata'. Now imagine the good you can do yourself if you spent more time being open-minded than being a bigot.

    Google 'bigot' too.

As all over the world airlines are downsizing the fleet it is not smart thinking. The government should have focused on the existing airports like Hubli, Belgaum, Gulbarga and Mysore to upgrade to International hub.
While comparing to Kerala, the Karnataka has only two International Airports.
