Mangaluru, Jun 8: City Centre and Forum Fiza Mall in the city reopened on Monday, June 8, after nearly two months of shutting down.
The malls were not as before where people thronged in large numbers. The public did not turn up to the malls on the first day of reopening.
While malls were permitted to reopen after over two months of complete shutdown, safety guidelines specified by the administration were issued to be strictly followed such as hygiene, social distancing, wearing of masks and so on.

Malls’ staff were deployed at entry points for the screening of the customers. Sanitisers have also been placed at the entrance of City Centre, while in Forum Mall, contactless sanitisation booth has been set up to ensure that the staff and customers are provided with a safe environment. Customers, visiting the malls are asked to follow the guidelines for their personal and others' safety.
Foot marking systems at lifts, escalators to facilitate social distancing have been implemented and other health norms provided by the authorities are being followed to ensure the safety of customers.
Even the food court at City Centre, seating capacity has been minimized. Customers without masks are not allowed inside the mall. If required, masks are being provided at the entrance. People aged above 60 are strictly prohibited from entering the mall.
