Bengaluru, Jun 6: Hotels and restaurants can be opened in the State from June 8 as per the guidelines laid down by the Centre subject to compulsory adherence to the regulatory precautions set out, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said in Bengaluru on Saturday.
The Chief Minister held a meeting with the officials of the Tourism and Transport Department and other representatives as well as the different stakeholders of the industry.



The representatives of the Hotels and Restaurant Association and from the Transport industry promised to abide by the norms set out by the government.
Yediyurappa released a booklet brought out by the Tourism Department on the guidelines to be followed by hotels, restaurants and other hospitality outlets as the stayhomes and paying guest homes.
A delegation of the Bus Owners, Hotel Owners, and Taxi Owners Associations submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister listing specific demands pertaining to them.
Yediyurappa promised to examine the demands and take a suitable decision.
Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister Laxman Savadi, Tourism Minister C T Ravi, Karnataka Tourism Development Corporation Chairperson Shruti, and other senior officials were present.
