Holy Masses, religious services to begin in Mangaluru churches from June 13

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jun 6: The bishop of Mangalore diocese Dr Peter Paul Saldanha has permitted the churches in the diocese to celebrate Holy Masses and hold other religious services from June 13.

In a circular he said, “All the parish priests are requested to make all the required arrangements to open churches and to have Religious services as per the government guidelines (e.g.: Thermal Screeners, Sanitizer, Volunteers, seating arrangements etc.). After ensuring that all the required things are in order, Masses can be celebrated in the churches from June 13.

Bishop Dr Peter Paul Saldanha

“More detailed guidelines will be sent at the earliest,” stated the circular.

It may be recalled, the bishop had issued directives to be followed in the churches and religious institutions in view of the coronavirus outbreak on March 18 had exempted Catholics from attending church.

Prayers are must as how many strains of virus Chinese have spread in india before the lockdown god only knows. God has allowed this because lack of prayers. So it wiser that faithful prayerful people pray in religious places atleast with their prayer virus be vanished.

Only God can help us from these virus because of greed of these Communist Chinese to conquer whole the world through this weapon grade virus. Cunningly how many more they bring out to achieve that God only knows so better to pray also at home. it is wiser to have atleast one prayerful person in family who can or interested to pray one hour prayers for family and country and 15 to half an hour of daily family prayers by family members is very much needed to come out this health, free movement or freedom (to go out freely) and financial uncertainty.

I hope the public opinion given here doesn’t fall on the blind eyes and to the deaf ears. I urge someone to bring these comments to the notice of the Bishop. Daijiworld who has been hailed highly with regard to the social responsibility it showed during this lockdown can do this job. Hope bishop considers these comments and revisit his decision to allow the resumption of masses in our churches. As per today’s report published in Udayavaani UDUPI diocese has not taken the call yet and it has called a meeting Tomorrow To discuss. Hope that diocese doesn’t walk on the path of this diocese since the bishop of UDUPI is known for his multilateral decisions and very much sensible. India already ranks 5th in the whole world, these opening of churches will further add to the rank.

Many are not happy with the idea. When many Hindu matts have differed the decision to keep open the temples for the devotees, we Christians are in a hurry no one knows what for. Requesting bishop to reconsider the decision to open the churches for religious celebrations. It’s easy for you to give guidelines sitting in the office, but we the people have our own concerns, fears and anxieties. Requesting Daijiworld to make these comments reach the bishop. With this decision we are supporting the spread.

If prayers and religious places were open, due to enough prayers by this time covid 19 would have vanished. Communist Chinese knew this so their first target was churches. Refer following article from bbc

"How Chinese tourists brought infection to Singapore by visiting a church"

    Ref: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-52840763

Although local lockdown continued in Wuhan international flights were kept open from China to spread virus to the rest of the world by so called Chinese tourists until global shutdown, in their greed to control the world economically and then slowly try to manoeuvre militarily when half damage has been done through this weapon grade virus. They seems to have failed to a certain extent but world's economy has taken a much beating. They definitely must be having a cure for it and their only one city was made to affect by ruthlessly using it on their own citizens.

God also allowed this to let man know how vulnerable he is against a tiny virus and to bring young and old back to places of worship. Or simply say no prayers no protection.

It has been prophesied severe earthquakes in China and Russia at an appropriate time. Also God would remove godless atheistic pro communists for their wicked acts and clean all evil and bring lasting peace soon.

So how important is the everyday prayers people should realise whether at religious places of worship or at home so Communist Chinese and their left leaning cronies wouldn't surprise us again from china or elsewhere in the world.

Why simply comment here. Everyone has thinking capacity . No one is forced to attend mass there are guidelines. Choice is ours. Let us be united and safe by following guidelines. When wine shop opened there was no worry among people. All stood in the queue in disciplined manner and took devil to house but when going to God's house we are worried. Be positive follow guidelines. Let us be safe.

    Jyoti,
You say why comment here. Commenting is to give one’s opinion, like you have given your opinion. Yes, it’s your choice to attend or not the mass but you have no right to spread the disease. Many of us want us to prevent the disease by not attending religious ceremonies. Nobody is worried to go to God’s house. Indians are very religious people irrespective of their religion and also generous donors to religious places. When God is everywhere, why can’t we just avoid going to these places until such time the normalcy returns. Many also condemned when wine shops were opened but government wanted money and people drinks. Same thing applies here too: the religious places want money and people like you want to attend those places. You also conclude your comment by advising to be safe. In a scenario where India has more than 10,000 daily cases, can you tell us if one can be safe at a public or religious gatherings?

John, your comment is really appreciable and rightly applicable to this topic n very reasonably. When Jyothi comments y cant others comment? Many opposed opening of d wine shops i am surprised Jyothi is not aware of dis fact. One asymptomatic person is sufficient to infect 100 abd more. If you have d hart to help da needy, you need not run to any religious places and shout oh god oh God. Dont gossip, dont spread any rumours abt your neighboir, dont steal, dont loot others in any way. Keep ypur conscience clean, do not judge and point out at others mistake. Ppl gathered n prayed before lockdown why virus didn't vanish?? People are wise. Take your own decisions.

A very bad idea by whoever decided to open the churches. They closed churches when the Corona positive cases were in single digit and now when they are rising exponentially, they are thinking of opening. What a joke! Hope some sense prevails with these decision makers. As someone mentioned, God is present even in your homes, so at least till the curve is flattened why not keep the restrictions that we already have. A few weeks or even a few months of not going to church will not make a great deal of difference. Hope the church authorities change their mind sooner.

Cases are rising day by day and it these places are allowed for any religious services, masses, or in fact, we are asking for more trouble. Let this Covid-19 be completely wiped out and then start doing all what you have to do. This is a deadly disease which can attack anybody as it is invisible.

Even though the government has relaxed the lockdown to re-open religious places, we have to think if it is a good idea to attend such gatherings considering the new Corona cases are going up and up on daily basis. We have so many cases where gatherings have resulted in spreading the virus. If we think God listens to us only in Church, temple and Mosque, then we don’t know Him. Attending religious places is not important like buying groceries or medicine. We cannot have lockdown forever which has brought both the public and government to their knees. God is accessible everywhere, who does not want you to get infected and then spread the disease to all and sundry. In my opinion religious gatherings is nothing but inviting the Coronavirus.

Who will ensure that the churches will be sanitized after every mass and how will they regulate worshippers, in observing social distancing ??? Lastly will the church authorities, take up moral responsibility, for any possibility of a community infection in the parish ???

German officials are tracking down Frankfurt church service attendees after 107 tested positive for coronavirus

    May 25, 2020

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - German authorities are trying to trace everyone who attended a church service in Frankfurt this month after more than 107 people tested positive for the coronavirus.

Churches in the state of Hesse, where Frankfurt is located, have been able to hold services since May 1 following the easing of coronavirus lockdown restrictions, provided they adhere to official social distancing and hygiene rules.

Reuters previously reported the service took place on May 10, the city's health department deputy chief Antoni Walczok told local newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau.

"This situation shows how important it is that all of us stay alert and avoid becoming careless, especially now during the easing of restrictions. The virus is still there and will spread," Hesse state health minister Kai Klose said.

When the Infected rate rises exponentially, I think it is a very bad idea to begin mass hastily. If Bishop had differed the decision to celebrate masses at least for another two months, all would’ve lauded him for his love and concern for the people of God. There are number of practical difficulties to begin the mass.
    1. Managing the crowd.
    2. Fixing the mass timings.
    3. Number of masses to be celebrated on Sundays and ensuring the fixed number of People for a particular mass.
    4. What if there was only one priest in a parish having 400 to 500 families?
    5. Whom to hold responsible if the people flout the rules? Bishop or the Parish Priest?
    6. What if a parishioner grudgingly complaints to the authorities of not adhering to the SOP?
    7. What about distribution of communion either by priests or extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion?
    8. What about the priests above the age of 60? Are we Jeopardising
