Kundapur, Jun 6: A person who returned to his house at Hennabail near Siddapur in the taluk after completing a 14-day quarantine at Kollur on his return from Maharashtra was found to have been infected with the deadly virus on Friday June 5. This information has spread panic among the people living in Siddapur and Hosangady villages.
Six people with whom the person had contact have now been home-quarantined. The house where the person stayed and the area around it have been sealed down. As a precautionary measure, the entire house area as well as Siddapur and Hosangady towns have been sanitised.
The person in question, after returning from Maharashtra, had completed 14 days quarantine at Kollur before returning home on Thursday. His test report was received on Friday which found he did have the infection. The fact that the person has not so far displayed any symptoms of the pandemic has been a major cause of worry.
