Mangaluru, May 2: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, Kota Srinivas Poojary, asserted that necessary steps would be initiated to make sure that corona crisis affecting the state will in no way harm the interests of the cow shelters.
He was speaking during his visit to Govanitashtraya cow shelter at Pajeeru in Bantwal taluk on Saturday May 2. "The government has come to know that there is shortage of fodder for the animals in the cattle shelters like grass. The department of animal husbandry has taken necessary steps to bring grass to Dakshina Kannada district from other districts including Hassan. The measures include issuance of passes for the trucks carrying fodder," he explained.
Poojary also said that the government will make sure that the cow shelters do not suffer from shortage of necessities including water. He added that necessary instructions are being issued to the department concerned.
On this occasion, former chairman of Goseva Ayog, M B Puranik, zilla panchayat former vice president, Sathish Kumpala, Chandahas Poonja, Rajesh Shetty, Vamanraj, Raviraj, Ramesh and others were present.
