Mangaluru: Two people from Bantwal, Boloor test corona-positive on May 1

Mangaluru, May 1: Two more cases of coronavirus positive were detected on Friday, May 1. 

It is confirmed that two people here have contracted the deadly virus from patients at First Neuro Hospital.

The two patients are a 69-year-old man from Bantwal and another 62-year-old man from Boloor.

The 69-year-old man is the relative and the neighbour of the woman who died due to coronavirus infection on April 19.

The 62-year-old man is the husband of the woman from Boloor who was tested positive for coronavirus on April 30.

So far the coronavirus positive cases in Dakshina Kannada district have increased to 24. Out of this 12 people have got discharged, three have died and nine people are under treatment.

    The pandemic in 1918 was very severe and 18 million people lost their life in India.Many died of starvation because the British govt picked up most of the food to transport to Britain.The virus was fast in spreading and people died in 3 days upon contracting the disease. The second wave killed more number of people than first wave
    This virus as per reports is killing old people but affecting the hearts of young people as to breathing patterns,heaviness in heart while breathing, tiredness after walking a distance of 50 meters.It is also damaging the kidneys and liver.The neuro system is also getting damaged. Also we have to pray that the second wave doesn't come else it will be more disastrous.

    Everything fishy. While lockdown the hospital why did they sent the patients home?? Thus made the two ares sealdown? We need a good official team to contain these kind of mismanagements and not disclosing the happenings to the public.

    First Nero hospital ignored the first patient and did not transfer it to Wenlock, arrest the owner of this hospital and close this hospital permanently.

    Patient may not be the transmitter every time. In few communities, all family members, relatives, friends flock to the hospital to see the patient like they enter marriage hall. These people may be the real culprits.

    Now the Doctors, Patients, nurses and hospital staffs are held accountable. Let the hospitals allow entry only to the person coming with xerox copy of their Aadhar, sign in visitor's register of the hospital. Rest should be barred entry. All the culprits can be traced easily. Hospitals are not following this procedure. Let the Administration make it a rule. All virus can be strained.

    We feel, first neuro hospital got this infection after we opened our border to treat the non corona virus patients. Corona infected patient must have come here for the treatment of other sickness who is also not aware of the problem or asymptomatic... Neuro hospital also not have doubted ..

    Ok..
    Today one news say 4 mandya boys got infection who has Mumbai travel history..
    It is already 45 days lockdown and now they are showing symptoms?

    So far conclusion is that, neuro hospital got infection through bantwal origin woman.

    If the patient was not wearing mask means, serious problem..
    It is like agarbatti gas... human breath out can go through all hospital wards.
    No walking in footfath also not safe, if some corona positive man walks on that...

    Only solution was that, people should have got time to buy 1 month rations and then lockdown completely for one month. No veg, no meat, no milk etc. Then only containment zone becomes green.. China did like that.. so they will become corona free nation.. but wat about India?

    Sri elder: haha! So you mean stroke patient who was paralysed for 35 days used to walk in hospital hallways?
    First detected case need not necessarily be the origin if you can't find source of virus from that patient's side.
    Wait until all nurse, patients are tested and their contacts if they have source in their side.

    @Cynthia,
    Only 4 non covid Patients crossed border for treatment to KS Hegde hospital. All of them went back as they were made to wait for covid test result to start any treatment. Also note that all those patients were later confirmed as Covid negetive.

    Now regarding the cases in Manglore, chain started from a Bantwal resident who arriaved from Dubai and tested positive after a month. He then infected his mom(later died). She infected her mother-in-law(who also died) who was already hospitalized in the first neuro hospital for a different illness. Then infection spread to a neighbour and also a patient and a worker in the hospital.

    Please stop putting the blame on Kasaragod for everything. DK District administration did not search for the primary and secondary contacts of the inital patients and failed to put them under quarantine

    Dear Prashant, person who came from Dubai is in mid of Feb. and he was tested negative... His father, his siblings no one has got. Hope and pray they will not get in future too! These are not allegations... When a dubai returnee was negative how he can give to his mom? Don't worry......i clearly mentioned someone must have visited neuro hospital with asymptomatic features which the patient as well as doctors are not aware..... Not allegations.... In any ways you should not feel hurt by my comment as hurting matters are not mentioned by me at all... This is for your kind information...
