Udupi, May 1: The district administration is mulling over starting of inter-state transport as there is possibility of the same from Friday, May 1.
Deputy commissioner (DC) G Jagadeesha has instructed officials to collect details of labourers from outstation states. If people of other states have to come to Udupi, they have to come according to the direction of that particular state government. Primary discussions are held with regard to the testing of such people when they enter the district, check post procedures and where to quarantine them.

Two IAS officers are appointed as Nodal officers for managing people who come at state level and leave from our state to others. The union government has to give guidelines for allowing people from overseas into the district. This information was provided by DC Jagadeesha.
Five buses each are scheduled to leave from Brahmavar, Udupi, Karkala, Kundapur and Kaup carrying migrant labourers of other districts of the state. So far district administration was bearing the cost of travel of these people. Now the state government has directed the district administration to take the fare from the passengers itself.
Additional DC Sadashiva Prabhu said that the buses will carry only 40% of the seating capacity in them.
