Raichur, Apr 30: A youth who created a post in social sites claiming that MLAs and MP had disappeared after coronavirus made inroads in society has been arrested.
Certain posts which claim that MLAs and MPs have gone missing since coronavirus raised its ugly head, and asking them to send these people's representatives to their constituencies if found, have been making the rounds in certain websites. One such post carried the photo of Raichur rural MLA, Basanagouda Dadal. The police who undertook investigation, could catch hold of a youth.
The arrested person is Thimmappa from Singanodi village in Raichur taluk. The police took him to the police station and questioned him. The villagers have expressed anger for arresting the youth who had edited similar posts containing photos of BJP MP, and replacing the photo with that of Congress leader, Basanagouda Daddal. The locals have also accused the policemen of confining the youth inside the police station since Wednesday morning, without registering any case, and without allowing Thimmmappa to walk free.
